Birds Nest Farm...
The simple brick farmhouse was constructed by Michael Boor for his family in 1842. At one time, the farm contained nearly 200 acres of fertile land. Early owners, in order, include Boor, Arnold, Foor, and Whitfield families. The home once housed the small Burning Bush Post Office from 1858 to 1905 in what is currently the first floor bathroom! The home belonged to the Whitfield family from 1922 to 1997, at which point, though much loved, it was very neglected and nearly razed. In 2004, Huston Godwin and Michael Stipanovic purchased the home and gradually restored its quaint simplicity. Decades of remuddling were corrected and every room furnished true to the home's 1840s origins. Many of the antiques are in the home for a brief period before making their way to the Shoppe.
